Making Social Media Bearable

Making Social Media Bearable

Like many small business owners I feel the pull to stay visible online even though writing is not my trade. I do not love social media. I am not a copywriter so writing content is hard and often feels like a chore. My work is systems and steady delivery. Still, I want to show up in a way that sounds like me, making social media bearable rather than a chore.

What changed things was using GenAI to remove the fear of the blank page. I ask for a rough draft in my tone, then I edit hard. I cut the fluff and decide what stays and what goes. The tool lowers the barrier and the voice stays mine.
The goal is making social media bearable while keeping my voice and my standards.

Making it bearable with GenAI

Here are the rules that make it workable for me.

  1. Start with prompts that sound like me
  2. Keep one clear idea per post
  3. Edit for plain English and my voice
  4. Remove the hype and the filler
  5. Accept good enough and move on

Using GenAI does not replace thinking. It buys me the minutes I need to be consistent and to get back to client work. I set the brief, check accuracy and tone, and remove anything that does not sound like me. It is a tool for speed, not a stand in for voice. The result is a rhythm I can repeat that keeps the audience warm and makes the next post easier than the last.

If the endless process of creating social media posts drains you, simplify how you do it and let the tools take the blank page out of the way so you can show up in your own voice and get on with the day. For me it is about making social media bearable without losing my voice.
